Does anyone have a resource or can point me into the right direction on finding if there are state laws limiting garnishment and escheatment fees for Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and Indiana? I have searched every way imaginable and am struggling to find the info needed.

Garnishments might be a little harder, but for escheat purposes - just pull up each State's unclaimed property law,

For example in Michigan:

Michigan

See subparagraph 3.

You could always try reaching out to the state bankers assoc in each state.

Thank you for the responses and links. They have helped with some smile

P*Q: I did reach out to the Bankers Associations and they were unwilling to help unless we were a member. I do have someone out of the Indiana Bankers Association looking for some resources for me also. We are in a bit of a pinch so I am trying to find this info as soon as possible.

I appreciate all the help!
