"Linda" tends to be a bit short financially the couple days before each payday. "Susan" has been borrowing her money; a $20 here, a $50 there to make sure she has enough funds to get through the rest of the week.

Linda and Susan are "friends"; work friends in my opinion; I have never heard that they socialize outside of work.

Regardless.

I hate that this has been happening. For what it's worth, Linda IS in a cash handling position; Susan is not.

I am Linda and Susan's supervisor. I found this out on accident, and it's my understanding that this has been going on for some time. Susan has always been paid back. But.....

Has anyone else had to deal with this? Should I be worried about this?

Unless the situation impacts their work, I am not sure an employer has much to say about it.

I would be auditing Linda's cash drawer on a surprose basis.

If Susan is providing the money personally, I agree with Randy - there is little reason the Bank can/should do anything. If you suspect Linda is also "borrowing" from her cash drawer, you can certainly perform a surprise audit.
