Curious to know if you break down your cash order from the Fed upon receipt to verify the amount. We had a bundle of $100's that was short, but because we didn't verify and file the dispute within 5 days of delivery, the Fed will not accept the Difference Claim. It was still in the original bag!

We verify and re-strap our cash orders the day we receive them.

When I was in the bank we did the same as Bankwoman. Same day.

Same here - 100s, 50s, 20s, 10s, and 5s were counted and re-strapped the same day of receipt. 1s and coins were accepted as is.

Wow! We do not as we weighed how many times the Fed has been off vs the time, energy of staff to recount it. The decision was made, the teller who purchased the Fed money in a buy must count it.

Congratulations! This is an admirable business decision. Given the low risk of an occurrence and small dollar amount that is at risk, "superfluous accuracy" is not cost-effective.
