I looked but didn't find anything disallowing us from removing a borrower (husband) from a consumer loan for a second home that the co-borrower (wife) wants to keep. She qualifies on her own without the husband, but I wasn't sure if I missed anything obscure that would prevent the bank from just doing a change in terms agreement that removes him from the loan. You mean they have requested that the husband be released from liability on the loan? That is totally a bank decision.

Yes, they just want him removed from the loan without having to do a refi.

It is a pretty standard request, especially in divorce situations. As long as the lender is happy with the credit qualifications of the remaining party, it is a pretty simple process. Your legal counsel should be able to provide you a standard form.
