Can a grandfathered flood insurance policy be transferred to a buyer purchasing your home? Ex. Our borrower is purchasing a home in zone AE. The current owners have a flood policy in effect for Zone E. Can that policy be transferred to our borrowers?
Yes, a grandfathered policy should be able to be transferred as long as continuous coverage has been maintained. The seller's insurance agent should be able to assist with the process.
