We will be starting to use a business debit card agreement soon for our commercial customers. I know Reg E time frames do not apply and I have been unable to find any other time frames we have to follow. Are there any requirements from other sources that limit how many days we can take to investigate a claim on a business debit card? We use Mastercard, if that makes a difference. Could we set our investigation time to 120 days for ATM and POS transactions?

Thanks in advance.

Banks usually engage competent legal counsel to draft business debit card agreements that are familiar with the MasterCard rules. If you are unsure of the rules, then if you are not going to use legal counsel then someone needs to get up to speed on the card issuer requirements. You don't normally give a business a day more than you are required to give them under the card issuer rules.
