I have been in banking many years and this has never come up that I'm aware of. Are government entities exempt from being charged overdraft fees? I did a search to see if anyone else had asked this, didn't find anything. And also researched some, not extensively, to find a law/rule but couldn't locate anything to indicate one way or the other.

Depends on the government entity - why a bank would pay a government entity into an overdraft position is beyond my comprehension.

Thank you Mr. Carey! Where would I find information on this? This is an agency of state government with offices in several areas and account is for a local office.
