Hello,
Apparently the FDIC called the old BSA Officer and she gave the FDIC person my work number to call. While I'm waiting, do you guys verify if the person is truly from the FDIC? How? What is the purpose of them calling usually?

Thank you in advance!
-Brandi

Are they your primary regulator? I would want to know what they wanted first and yes, verify their ID before answering too many questions.

Yes. What's the best way to verify their ID? For her to email me her info?

Thank you for the quick response smile

Ask them what office they are calling from. Find the general office number through another source and call them back through the general number by asking for them by name.

Just as an FYI, based on my recent exam experience FDIC examiners are not working in offices at the moment. I would call the local Regional Office or Field Office number if you have it. You could then verify the person's name and phone number but you probably won't be able to reach them through their office lines.

I will look into this, I don't have the local office number but I imagine I can find it. Thanks!

I do not know if this helps. If it is a rush request, I ask the person to send me an email with the agency name in the address.
