Are there any special hold (Reg. CC) rules for a deposit made at the ATM machine?

Yes, check is deposited at an ATM owned by bank. Can’t the exception hold reasons be applied on checks deposited through the ATM? Such as a large deposit hold?

If the deposit is made at a proprietary ATM, you can place any hold -- including an exception hold -- that you would place on a check deposited in person. Also, any "next day" check -- except for a U.S. Treasury check -- that requires in-person deposits to qualify for next day availability can be delayed to 2nd bus day.
