Does anyone know of a site or specific search engine that would help us locate the successor to the paying agent of a bond that has been presented for redemption? I've had no luck with yahoo, google, etc.

I'm going to post this question in the PA state forum just in case there is an old-timer (defined as older than I am) whose demented hobby is keeping track of the successive incarnations of southeastern PA banks from the 1970s.

Try this site, which is maintained by the federal regulators. I'm not sure how far back into antiquity they go, but I just identified the successor of a bank that disappeared in our area about 30 years ago.

Thanks, John! The target of my search was acquired in 1969, but the trace still worked. I'll bet your website "favorites" list is a very long one.

I hadn't used that NIC site for months. It was good to be able to dust it off and let someone else in on it.
