Odd question for sure. If a BSA Officer leaves the bank suddenly and there are no printed copies or any soft copies of SARs but new BSA Officer can determine through Board reports that SARs were occasionally filed, can the bank request access to their own SARs filed through FinCEN? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

you should be able to see the SARs in the system used to file them.

FinCEN will not provide copies of SARs a bank filed back to the bank. The bank is required to retain records of SARs and their supporting information for five years.

Hopefully you can find them. Regardless, I'd put on my ticker list creating a procedure to make sure these are securely retained going forward.
