I have heard within the industry that during recent exams, examiners are asking banks about what they’ve done to address COVID/Cares Act provisions, as well as what they continue to do, and what they plan on doing going forward. Has anyone created a log/list for this purpose? If so, what did you all include on it? Thanks.

Here are some things that I am tracking:
  • Client communications regarding bank relief options
  • Types of accommodations offered by loan product type and number of customers receiving each type of accommodations
  • Any deposit account fee waivers, minimum balance waivers, withdrawal restrictions, or other customer relief
  • Participation in PPP and/or Main Street Loan programs
  • Any other help offered to customers, like enhanced access to mobile or online banking
  • Branch safety measures, such as enhanced cleaning, adding teller shields, mask requirements, lobby hours by appointment, etc.
  • Changes in hours of operation
