Hi, I do not believe this is contemplated in Regulation X so I am curious as to your thoughts, please.

Do you allow an approved successor in interest to provide the bank authorization to discuss the loan with a third-party (such as the approved SII's father or mother)? I believe this would be allowed since an approved SII steps into the shoes of the original borrower, so to speak, so I assume an approved SII can grant account authorization to a third-party.

Thoughts?

Thank you.

What are you trying to protect - the privacy of a dead person? If the SII has yet to assume the loan or needs help in doing so, I see no harm in discussing the situation with anyone the SII gives you permission to engage.

Thank you. I agree and appreciate the second opinion very much.
