We have a customer who has under $10,000 with our bank located in PA. The customer moved to Florida and has died in Florida. Can we release the funds to her son and daughter with proper documentation etc.? We received an Order of Summary Administration(Testate) from a Florida court telling us to distribute the account equally amount the two. We are not familiar with Florida rules or the court order so wondering if it is okay to follow PA rules for this?
Thanks!

Kathy,
I would try to satisfy both forums: request a paid funeral bill, and an affidavit signed by both children asking that payment be made to them jointly.

Tagging on to this post. Did you receive any further information on the Order of Summary Administration? We have received one as well; bank is in Kentucky, customer had relocated to Florida several years ago and died there last year. The Order appears to be pursuant to Florida law, but I'm unfamiliar. Just curious if anyone had any other dealings with this. Thanks.
