yes, don't we all. the bars on fridays. the holiday themed posts. the ornament exchange. heck, we even had a couple of BOLers meet and get married, how crazy is that!

now anything more than a song title thread is controversial...

Kinda like society in general.

While i agree that people are too easily offended these days, part of the problem is that so many people today can't voice an opinion without being obnoxious about it, or by coming right out of the box demeaning anyone who might dare to disagree.

The era of that it was OK to have opposing opinions is definitely over. It is now the "My way, or the Highway" mentality that leaves no room for calm and logical discussions, which OMG, might actually lead to some sort of possible compromise. Now, if you compromise, you are weak.

Congrats to everyone who is retiring this year! I've got a few more years to go, but I'm very much looking forward to it.

Still not retiring. Remote work makes it easier and safer to continue and the money helps fund our travels. I won't keep it up forever but for now....
