I use the same approach, RV. And when you've eliminated a number of vowels, it can really help you narrow down which consonants are likely to be in the word and where they might (or can't) be placed.

I try to follow that philosophy, but i don't use the same word or words every day.

i use the same word daily to start, only once has it returned zero results.

Announced yesterday - Wordle has been acquired by the New York Times for low seven figures. Not bad for a guy that invented it as a hobby and gift to his girlfriend.

It's the gift that keeps on giving! I just hope the NYT doesn't make it "subscribers only."

I tried Wordle a couple times but it just didn't hook me. too much of a guessing game. I'm still a Sudoku fan.

First guess today i had the first 4 letters in order....quite lucky.

Anyone find the words are tougher since the NY Times purchased it?

They've been pretty tough the last week or so, i would say.

Today's sure was.

I got today's on the next to last guess, but missed at least one of the ones that began with a "U".

Haven't missed any yet - only got to six once!

It does seem like NYT is choosing more obscure words. I had to think about yesterday's word for a LONG time.

I wish they would give a hint when they are using the same letter twice.

That's part of the thinking challenge that I love about this game.

I'm not fond of the words that start with a vowel. I've definitely had to think harder lately, but haven't missed any.

I need more patience...sometimes i just get tired of it and make quick guesses. That, and it took me about 2 weeks to really figure out that i had a used letter board at the bottom to help.

Playing but not sharing results daily. I haven't missed one yet but I'm stressed every day that it will be the first time I do. LOL! Usually guess in 4 tries max.

I'm pretty much neck and neck on 3 and 4 - I get to 5 a little less than 20% of the time.

I just downloaded the app.....i'm doing better on it (words are just as tough when you get to the 5 letter ones...you have to jump through about 15 rounds of 4 letter words first). I got 23 in a row before i missed on "write" (i know, i know...shouldn't have been that hard).

If I downloaded the app I probably would not get much work done, so I will delay taking that step.

I got a little obsessive with it last night....got to level 35 or so (3 or 4 words a level i think). Fun.....have to wait through some ads (unless you want to pay, which i don't)....
