I'm looking at the FEMA website, and saw that the National Flood Insurance Program was extended from March 11, 2022 to March 15, 2022??? https://www.fema.gov/flood-insurance/rules-legislation/congressional-reauthorization

I thought I saw somewhere that the NFIP was extended to September 30th. I might be wrong, does anyone know?

FEMA and the NFIP are caught up in this on-going game that Congress is playing called on-going continuing budget resolutions that impact ever agency of the Federal government.

Continuing Resolution

Why no one can actually govern anymore is beyond me.

Did Congress reauthorize the NFIP? I believe NFIP will expire today at 11:59 pm if not reauthorized. Thanks.

They passed a gov't spending bill until next week

According to The New York TImes:

WASHINGTON — Congress cleared a one-week spending bill on Thursday to avert a government shutdown this weekend, buying additional time for lawmakers to resolve frenzied negotiations over a broader spending package to keep agencies and departments funded through next fall.

The Senate approved the measure 71 to 19, a day after the House acted and barely 24 hours before funding was set to lapse. President Biden was expected to sign it before the midnight Friday deadline.

Ha - with as fractured as the House Republicans are? I would not count on it unless some bill comes to the floor that will garner some Democratic support. Time to pull out the old guidance: . https://www.fdic.gov/news/financial-institution-letters/2010/fil10023.pdf
