Is a loan officer (MLO) signature required on the loan application for a HELOC or on the 1003 application for a mortgage loan? (We use the 1003 for our HELOCs, too, since docs are generated in the same platform.) The NMLSR# and name of the MLO do print on the 1003, as required. We're experiencing delays by following up with the MLOs for a signature.

You can take an application on a napkin if you want too. There is no requirement for anyone to sign an application, not even the applicant.
