Years ago someone put out a training called "How to Read A Reg" -I think it was either BOL or ABA. I'm trying to track that down now, because I think it would be great foundational information for my compliance assistants - but I can't find it. Anyone know where I can get my hands on that training? TIA!

Good luck with your search. It's extremely important for people who work with regs to understand how to navigate them. If it's not already covered in the training, add "WHEN to read the reg." I've seen many problems that stemmed from bankers who relied too heavily on the softer support material (summaries, training manuals, commentaries) and bypassed the reg. Support material can be very helpful, but it's never a substitute for the actual words in the regs.

I teach a course called Read a Regulation at the Georgia Bankers Association Compliance School Year 1 which we hold every other year. We've always gotten terrific reviews for the course. I'd be happy to do it as a webinar for BOL if they are interested.
