If the bank sends out an email that is for a wine tasting event at the bank, is this considered a CAN SPAM email?

There is no selling of banking products, etc. there was no agenda. The invitation is not advertising or promoting a commercial product or service.

Yes, it is an advertisement. Why else would you be hosting a wine tasting if not promoting the bank?

I find it hard to believe that the bank isn't benefitting in some way; I'm assuming your employees are staffing this? And are getting paid?
