Going to the Ark Encounter in Kentucky in 2 weeks for a long Labor Day weekend.

Heading to Alaska in a week, can't wait! Daughter and Son-on-law live in Anchorage and haven't seen them in 1-1/2 years. Sounds like it has been raining non stop for a month up there.

Taking 3 days next week to go salmon fishing on Lake Michigan.

Oh man, I really miss fishing Lake Michigan for salmon and coho and lake trout. I remember when the salmon were introduced in the late 60's and we used to fish for them in the 70's and we were allowed to snag them in the rivers. Nothing like snagging a 40 lbs salmon in the tail. Later, after that was outlawed we fished mainly from boats in the lake with downriggers.

A friend of mine, his brother-in-law has a boat he keeps at a marina in Eastern Wisconsin. He is letting us go out with him on the lake. We will be using downriggers and such. Hoping to bring home some fresh salmon or trout to smoke. I would have loved to snag a 40 lb. salmon like that Randy.

I went to the Ark Encounter in 2018 and would love to go back! Went in mid-March so the gardens hadn't started to grow yet and not many animals, so I would love to go back and see it with everything. The experience was incredible!

Seriously!!! I googled "Don't cook chicken in Nyquil" just to see what you were referring too. I can't believe how incredibly stupid people can be.

What kind of evil people are posting those challenges on social media though? What has to go through your head to "challenge" someone (in particular, kids) to do something potentially deadly? What is wrong with people?

Where would one get enough Nyquil to cook a chicken? it would be in the gallons.

Sleepy Chicken... Funny name and funny video but bad idea. I don't think there is a lot of people out there trying the challenge tbh. Not saying there isn't any out there but there have been really dumb people on Earth since the beginning. The game changes but the players pretty much stay the same.

in the big scheme of things, i'll take a nyquil cooker over a toilet seat licker any day...

As the parent of teens, these "challenges" don't have the traction the media pretends they do. Nobody is actually cooking chicken in Nyquil and eating it. It gets picked up by the media and blown way out of proportion. Teens are MUCH smarter than we give them credit for.

I don't doubt that your kids (or even most kids) are smart enough not to do something this crazy......but having smart kids doesn't mean that the kids down the blcok are that smart. I taught kids for a long time....a lot of really smart ones and a lot of .....well...ones that weren't so much.

Regardless of how many people are or aren't doing it...posting anything dangerous or deadly as a "challenge" on social media is irresponsible and stupid.

as a former teenager, believe me, we were that stupid, and more...fortunately, it was well before social media, so there is no actual proof in existence
