OK
Was just reading a story about the rising price of eggs, and the story ended with this gem:

To avoid scrambling to find eggs, experts suggest avoiding grocery shopping on Sunday nights or Monday mornings, since most stores restock overnight during the week.

Well done.

So Cal
The rising egg prices are no yolk. I'm just trying to figure out what the shell is going on. I hope this dozen't last too long.

But seriously, where I shop there are plenty of eggs, they just cost a lot more.

I'm old enough to remember when eggs were so inexpensive, we'd launch them at the houses and cars of our enemies.

$8.99 a dozen at my local grocery store this weekend.

They used to be a cheap high protein breakfast or snack....not so cheap anymore.

Dozen eggs: $6.32 for organic and $5.37 for regular eggs in my area.
Needless to say I will not be buying any soon.

Wanted french toast, eggs, and bacon Saturday for breakfast......4 eggs total...ouch. But ultimately worth it, cuz it was great.

My dogs used to each get a boiled egg with their breakfast. Now they split one. Hopefully the avian flu will go away soon.

Just paid $3.99 at Aldi's. They also had an apology for the price taped to the front of the case.

H.G. Stores a lot smaller (40K sq.Ft.) and less brand selection (e.g. 1 brand of ketcup, not dozens), get through quicker, double guarantee on most foods - you like it, or we will refund your monsy, even of you ate it.

Compared prices with local stores: (Same foods - different brands but lowest prices)
Publix grocery $127.
WalMart Market $102.
Aldi's $88.

I went to Italy for a month some years ago. By week 2 I was super dehydrated and didn't want to spend a lot of money on just buying water. I was young and broke. An Aldi was opening in a town I was in and I went to check prices. Blown away. Everything was so much cheaper. I bought enough water bottles to last the rest of the trip and just dealt with a very heavy suitcase.

I frequent Aldi now in the states as they earned my respect.
