We have a customer who received a wire in. He has already spent part of the money. Do we cut him a check and close his account or try to send part of the money back? Do you have to have the full amount? The customer brought in an email with instructions on what to do with the remaining funds. That is how we knew it was fraudulent, however he doesn't believe it's fraud. I will file a SAR.
send a service wire back to chase telling them you believe you have received a fraudulent wire and asking their wire fraud operations to get in touch with you
