We have recently had a specific FI deny valid endorsement claims that were submitted timely. Our associate who works these returns has come to me about this and I've advised she needs to send the FI notice that claim was made timely, affidavit provided, endorsement clearly doesn't match payee and request payment per UCC, etc. She states she doesn't have a document/letter for that. I am a fraud investigator so this is out of my wheelhouse and although not technically in my job description, my goal is to recover for customer and/or bank whenever possible and these are basically no brainers. I did some online searches but didn't find anything that clearly stood out for this purpose.
Is there anyone who would be willing to share the document you use when your initial claim is denied but was submitted timely and return of funds is warranted regardless of account balance or point me in the right direction to find one?
