I have this ongoing debate with my marketing folks about the placement of "Member FDIC". I was always taught it should be in close proximity to the bank's name. Marketing tends to be creative and put it at the bottom of the ad when our bank name is on the top.

This doesn't seem to come up in audits or exams, so should I continue nagging? Is there a citation I can point to?

There are no proximity requirements. It is just either in the advertisement or it is not.

Well, I stand corrected. Seems like they try to bury it in the ad, so I will still be bringing that up. wink

We always place the Member FDIC or Equal Housing Lender disclosures at the end of the advertisement
