In my previous life, my bank was considering outsourcing just the compliance audit function. They were considering a very large and well-known firm. They wanted to come in quarterly and review several items. I would have been deeply involved in this out-sourcing. I would assist them while they were here. I would compile whatever they needed between visits and I would be responsible for ensuring responses were made in a timely fashion. The dollar amount they wanted was some where around $65,000. At that time we decided that I really wouldn't be able to devote much (if any) more time to just being the compliance officer and training concerns. I am just warning that you want to understand exactly how much the firm that you outsoursce with is going to do for your bank. Will it actually free up someone for other duties or will the firm expect a bank employeee to serve them as well?
