Although regulation does not require CIP for beneficiaries on a POD or Totten Trust account could anyone share with me what they do require?

Seems like the name would be sufficient but if it is a common name it might be hard to identify them upon death of the owner(s).

It seems to me that the chances of the address of the beneficiary remaining the same is unlikely so getting that does not appear to be of much benefit. Name and date of birth might help identify them? Does anyone require SSN of beneficiaries?

Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Our policy does not require us to CIP a POD. However we would get as much information on the POD that the account holder might be able to give to us.

We do the same, ask the account owner for as much info as possible including the social security number. We explain that the beneficiary needs to prove his/her identity to claim the funds and wouldn't the customer want to make it as painless as possible for them?
