Is there a time frame or banking practice/standard (number of months)in New York when a bank places a banking account that has no customer activity on an "inactive" basis? I believe dormant is 24 months, and escheatment is 5 years without client contact.

Thanks.

I, too, am interested in knowing the timeframes used by other NY banks. Would some of you NY bankers out there please respond with the timeframes used by your bank. Thanks so very much.
