Does anyone know what the law in South Carolina is when someone signs with an "X" and is executing a legal contract or document? Does the signature have to be witnessed by one or two individuals? Any other steps that must be documented with this type of signature?

I don't know law, but our procedures are to have two witnesses other than the lender. Why? Because that's how we have always done it.
