Are we allowed to charge a monthly fee on dormant accounts?

I have the same question regarding demand accounts for the state of Idaho. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to look at the laws in your state that govern "unclaimed properties". In many states there are prohibitions, unless you follow specific rules.

We've got a situation where we've acquired a number of accounts nationwide and will be looking at dormant account issues very shortly. Does anyone know if there's a general state-by-state overview available anywhere? I can't believe national banks take the time to research each state individually. Thanks.
