Well, they didn't get her moved on Monday because of a communication gap between the different doctors. Then they didn't get her moved today because of insurance issues we are trying to get resolved. Maybe they'll move her tomorrow.
In the meantime, she has not had a great day today. She started spiking a fever of around 102 which they've been trying to treat with Tylenol. She was also consistently complaining of continued pain where her pancreas is located. They've been giving her more of the pain medication. She has been more confused and agitated than the past few days and this is being attributed both to the fever and the pain medication. This evening her heart rate is very elevated. They also think this is related to the fever. They have ordered chest x-rays for in the morning as well as blood gas analysis. Please pray that she is not developing pneumonia or some other complication.

Jim,
Does the hospital have a case worker who can help you with those logistical issues (insurance, communications)? It is so hard when you are focused on your loved one to also deal with those things!

Jim reports further setbacks this morning. Lynne's temperature has spiked as high as 103.5 and her white count is way up. Heartbeat, respiration, and potassium levels are also way up. Doctors have determined that she has a blood clot in her left leg and possibly elsewhere. She's scheduled for a CT scan & doppler today in order to determine the extent of the clot(s). She has not been conscious since Tuesday evening.
