Jim - I will add my well wishes to your family as well, and just add "kudos" to you for obviously being a fighter yourself. It's never easy being on the other side of the sickness, and speaking as someone who can admit I have a hard time being tolerant and as supportive as I should be when a loved one is sick, I think you deserve all the credit in the world. It seems like you have gotten thru this like a champion.

The Lord is gracious and compassionate! And - He loves to bless the socks off His kids! That's great news, and I'll continue to add my prayers to those of the others before the Father. May Lynne be able to rest in His arms, and may you continue to draw on His strength as you provide His hands and feet to her needs.
(On a side note: Do think through all the details about when she comes home and how she'll need to maneuver around. A friend of mine brought his wife home after 2 weeks in the hospital and thought she would be able to do things she had done previously - she couldn't even make it up the stairs. He had to quickly scramble to get a hospital bed and add rails in the bathroom. I'm probably not telling you anything you haven't already considered, but just thought I'd mention it while it was fresh in my mind.)

Good thoughts, BB. Fortunately, we've already had some experience with this that we gained last year when Lynne had knee replacement surgery. We've got a two story house and all the bedrooms and all the bathrooms with tubs are upstairs. So we learned how to improvise.

No release yet - things didn't progress quite as quickly as they thought they might. It now looks like maybe she'll get to come home by Friday. Over the weekend she was finally able to get up out of bed to a standing position without any help. She's done that several times since, including once for the doctor this morning. She is continuing to build strength and should be home soon.
