I didn't see the option of, "Stay late and work until 11:00"

I will be celebrating my birthday and NYE with my daughter, son in law, niece & family playing games, eating and hugging my grand baby.

We usually stay home and have a seafood feast. Fried oysters, steamed mussels, shrimp and linguini, Crab imperial or crab scampi, baked cod and salmon, fresh octopus if I can get it, Fried smelts, and maybe some clams... A couple bottles of pino grigio and a kiss for my honey at midnight.
Saturday morning she is dragging me to Atlantic City for a brunch somewhere and some gambling.(she gambles, I watch)Then home to a honey roasted ham for dinner.

Big Brother knows and that's a...
My boyfriend and I are going out for a quiet dinner tonight. No partying, no drinking. Just some good food and time spent together.

For those that are going to parties, please be safe!

OK
I'm staying home, but may be alone. My husband may get an early start at his family since he is frying the turkey for tomorrow. My daughter will be with her boyfriend, son is at college working and I will be baking pies and bread for tomorrow. Sounds fun, huh!

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
Friday night is Pizza and Movie night at my house. My daughter and I will be eating pizza and watching something juvenile (she's only 7 after all). We will then stay up to see the new year in together. She's is too excited about the possibility of staying up till midnight. If it's true that what you're doing at midnight is what you will be doing the most of during the new year, then I guess next year I will be spending a lot of time with my daughter - which is a good thing!

I'm the only single female in my group of friends. They prefer to live vicariously through me- so they are counting on me to live it up. I may go out with good intentions but might have to resort to going home early and embellishing the details of the evening!

I am in the same position Doodle. And since I am currently without boyfriend either, I have an obligation to go hit the town and hope I get lucky (which, in my case means being able to find my car at the end of the evening!!! )

Of course you are right, and I agree with you totally. But I was just making a joke (and there could be other reasons I couldn't find my car besides being drunk...like just being so absent minded I forgot where I parked.).

As I always do, I will stop drinking hours before it is time to leave so that I will not be a danger to myself or others. And if there is any doubt, I will catch a ride with friends.

Sorry, didn't think about how that sounded...I am in no way approving of driving drunk...

Going out to dinner with friends, then heading over to a party for the big countdown. On the 1st, there is another party.

So, my resolution to watch my weight will have to wait until the 2nd.

Have a great new year, everybody!

CG, it seems that I won't be allowed to take it easy and fake some details of the evening. We are all going to dinner and a movie and then going out after. I thought I would be the only one of the group that would make it until midnight but it seems that I will be heavily chaperoned!! The good news- they will all be determined to find someone to kiss me at midnight!

We're going grocery shopping - we'll probably grab a bite while we're out. No big deal.

Phantom of the opera movie and then pizza at home with my one and only squeeze. I think I saw some Cuvee tucked into the fridge so looks like we'll be toasting the new year.

OH NO! Be careful about that midnight kiss. I remember a New Years where I didn't see (i.e. remember) my midnight smooch until my sis had the photos developed...
