How do we report a loan where the original application was for a VA loan but before closing, the applicant chose to go with a FHA loan instead and then withdraws the application all together. Do we report this with the original app date and type or the altered type and date or twice?

Did you process the FHA change as a continuation of the original app, or as a new app? Was a loan decision made on the FHA change before the app was "withdrawn"?

Questions:
    1. Did the loan get approved?
2.If so, as a VA or an FHA?

It's not two applications and decisions so I would not report it twice.

If they changed from VA to FHA before underwriting decision was made, I'd report it as FHA.

If they switched after underwriting and then withdrew, I'd be more inclined to report VA & approved but not accepted.

It was a continuation. No loan decisions made.

I would report only once based on the original terms as an approved but not accepted.
