BWest...were you reading my mind yesterday? I was looking for that exact same thing....maybe we are both enduring an OCC IS exam, perhaps? Thank you for asking for it!

Have you discovered the Google search engine? Just go to google.com and key the 501B of GLBA, or something even more on target and google.com will immiediate come up with all kinds of references that are right on target. The great thing about google is that it highlights the target words, assuring a closer match to what you are looking for.

I was looking for the same thing as well. We just went through an examination. They hit real hard on this subject. I suggest to everyone to know it inside and out before your exam.

Amy, problem is the examiner discussed the apparent weakness with the IT guy, who only knows he referred to 501b of GLBA. The examiner only briefly mentioned to me that he had left something with IT. This examiner was very nice, however, I could not understand much of anything he had to say because of his foreign accent. What did your examiners "hit" you with?

bwest: The text of 501(b) isn't very informative. You will find a lot more detail in the Information Security Guidelines that were issued pursuant to 501(b). See: http://www.complianceheadquarters.com/Privacy/66FR8615.txt

Thanks. I just talked to the IT guy again and he said the examiner "encouraged" us to develop a privacy policy related to the website and referred him to 501b of GLBA Does anyone have a clue what he is talking about exactly?

Unless you are conducting your openings and closing solely on the Web with E-Sign/UETA, you don't have to put a Privacy policy on your site, but it is encouraged. Could this be what was said? (If you're unsure, call them back and ask. I'm sure they'll explain and be glad to do so.)
