Look on the bright side--it's Friday--and I suspect somebody will be opening the bar.

Yep - 8 weeks old today, so hopefully things will lighten up a bit soon. They just had their first set of shots yesterday so they were a bit cranky, but not too bad.

8 weeks old...I can't imagine having 2 that age. You are very blessed, and very tired I imagine. At least you have some peace in the knowledge that someday they will sleep all night!

Congrats on the twins Dave!

A couple of tips for their next shots, you may already know these, but they really helped our kids. We always give the kids Tylenol before going to their appointment to kind of give them a jumpstart on the pain. They are still pretty young so the Dr. can tell you the dosage. We also tried something with my son that worked really well. If they take a pacifier at all, let them have it while they are getting the shots - something about the comfort factor of having the "binky". The nurses at our doctor are really great and if we have two vaccinations that day they will come in and do them both at the same time to avoid multiple "trama".

Again congrats Dave, hope you get some sleep soon!

Thanks Thomas J - they gave the kids Tylenol right before the shots. So far, no adverse affects or fever. They cried for a bit as they got the three shots, but all in all, were brave little soldiers and soldiersses. We are giving them tylenol for a day or two to control any pain - he woke up cranky at around 4 which he never does, so I gave him a dose and it helped a lot.

YAWN...I'll join in, if you'll let me. The bear just cut 8 teeth in the past 3 weeks. We're all tired and cranky in our house.

Doesn't that child know that getting cranky with mommy right before mommy gives her part of her own organ isn't the brightest thing to do? Shesh! kids these days....

Yes, I'm kidding! Poor kid

the Bear always does things with "perfect" timing. I heard that one of the steriods she'll be on after transplant may cause her gums to become thicker - making it harder to cut teeth. She must have heard this too, because she's doing her darndest to make sure to pop them all out before getting her new liver...

Smart Kid! Perhaps they can pull them all while she's ko'd by the drugs for the transplant!
