It depends...

records vault - records is an adjective describing which vault.

record's vault - record's is possesive showing who (what) owns the vault.

Hope this helps.

Actully the possessive would be "records' vault" unless you only have one record in the vault.

I am glad I speak "Southern" and don't worry about such trivial matters.

I think the correct version would be

"Banker's Box"

At least that's where our records are around here

I would go with "records vault". That shows that the vault is full of records, rather than the vault belonging to the records.

Some alternatives:

"Lot of Paper Here"
"All but the one you are looking for, here"

It only matters if you are writing a professional letter or just sending an email to an important person. If you are talking or just posting on bol, it doesn't matter because everyone knows what you are talking about.

IMHO, If you're having a sign made to go outside, I'd say RECORDS VAULT.

No question it is "records vault" as you are describing the type of vault that holds records.

Righto - otherwise you'd be saying that the vault belongs to the records ("record's vault"). How about Vault o' Records?

records vault: 'records' is actually an adjective describing the vault. not possessive at all.

one is a "run batted in" which is "rbi". now that we have the acronym, we pluralize it when there are more than one

I was at the PBR Open this past weekend. I saw a sign that said "No camera's, No cell phone's, no cooler's". I wanted to add "No apostrophes!"

That is so annoying when people try to put apostrophes in everything that ends with an S!
