Hey Lestie, where in NM did you come from? I lived in NM and moved to TX for a short period of life. I hated it and had to move back.

Being hispanic and living in New Mexico, of course my favorite food is Mexican.

If I am Irish, don't live in Mexico, and live on the East Coast, am I allowed to note that many of my favorite foods are Mexican?

Hey, Jay-Risk... It's New Mexico. Much different. I sure Mexico's Mexican is different than New Mexico's Mexican. I know from experience that Texas Mexican is nothing like the "real thing".

I would have to say, Cheddarwurst (that’s cheese filled bratwurst).

But then look where I’m from.

This was a Freudian slip. I saw that it said New Mexico, but my mind was thinking Mexican food.

Amen, Sister!! Preach it!!! Jay - you're allowed a slip or two. After all, how could you have known, being a Yankee and all.

Saphire, I've lived in several different areas - Espanola, Albuquerque, Las Cruces, Ft. Sumner, Melrose, Roswell.

You're forgiven Jay.

Lestie- Espanola is close to where I'm at. I also went to college in Portales, so I know where a lot of those little cities are.

Everyone has a different interpretation of what "the real thing" is! California Mexican is nothing like New Mexico Mexican. I never had a green chili until I moved here. When I went to the Yucatan the food was completely different from what I had in Mexico City. But it's all fabulous- such an an amazing variety.

And TexMex is completely different from both Cali & NM Mexican. It's all good though.

Substitute pink-eye purple hull peas for those english peas and you've got the perfect meal, RunswithSissors.

Any Hee-Haw fans out there?

Hey Grandpa, What’s fer Dinner?
We got a hot smoked gobbler, right off the grill, mashed tators with chin-drippin gizzard gravy, collards and turnips boiled with bacon, cornbread stuffin and sweet tator pie. Tall glass of sweet ice tea, and stiff shot of Southern Comfort to bid y’all good night!
(I know there were better one's than this, but it's the only one I could find)-
*** Can't you just picture him in the window rattlin' off that meal?
