I ran across a site last week that may be of interest to BOL posters, at least those that have not alway discovered this site. It's AuditNet.org. Motto: Auditors Sharing Audit Programs.

There are more than a few bank specific workpapers that appear to be useful as is or revised to suit your needs.

I'm not affiliated with this site and since it's an org site, it's "products" are open to all at no cost.

Some of the listed workpapers:

ACH ICQ (xls)
Credit Card Security Audit Program
Deposit Accounts ICQ (xls)
E-Banking Examination Procedures
Electronic Banking Work Program
EFT Wire Transfer Audit Program
EFT Questionnaire
Interest Rate Swaps
Safety deposit boxes Questionnaire
Wire Room ICQ (Word)
Electronic Funds Transfer Audit Program
Electronic Funds Transfer ICQ
Electronic Funds Transfer (SWIFT) ICQ
Electronic Funds Transfer (SWIFT) Pre Audit Information Request
Electronic Funds Transfer Audit Program (Non-Bank)
Employee Expense Reports
Backup and Data Retention Audit Program
Business Application Review (Word) (pdf)
Business Resumption Audit Program (Word, pdf)
Computer Incident, Intrusion, Emergency Response (Word) (pdf)
Contingency Planning Audit Program
Contingency Planning Internal Control Questionnaire
Crisis Management Audit Plan (txt) (MS Word) (PDF)
Disaster Recovery Plan
Disaster Recovery Risk Evaluation (Word (pdf)
E-commerce Audit Program
Insurance (Risk Management) Audit Program
Risk Management Issues Paper (MS Word) (pdf)

I have visited AuditNet as well and have found it useful. You can get questions answered there, but only if you submit a program or ICQ. More proof that we as auditors can only profit from networking and sharing, especially in the current business environment.

I haven't seen that defined before. I do know that there is no charge for the workpapers at Auditnet, but don't know that is necessarily because they are a ".org" site. Are you saying that ".org" sites cannot post any materials and still retain the copywrite rights to that material just by virtue of being ".org" sites? Or that they cannot charge any type of membership charge? Non-profit does not equal inability to assess charges. So I'm confused. Can you help by offering some clarification? Thanks.

On the Net
Once upon a time domain names were supposed to be somewhat restrictive and ".org" was a nonprofit organization. Not so now. From VeriSign's FAQ, The extensions .com, .net and .org are called "generic" domains because they are not affiliated with any country. These types of generic domains are unrestricted--this means anyone from anywhere can register as many .com, .net or .org domain names as they like.

They have little to do with pricing for products or services.

Andy replied right on target. I continue to think that .org sites as as pure as they were in the past, but that's just wishful thinking. I ran a for business .com site in the past, but also had the same URL with .org that I viewed as a service, versus for profit.

By the way BOL is a .com site, but is somewhat unique in that they give first to receive later, e.g. give posters a place to post and products that they hope will be considered. It's a very fair deal in this day and age.

I wouldn't place any special meaning on the ".org" tag these days. For some odd reason the British embassey in DC uses britainusa.org for its web site, when I'm sure that it should be a ".gov", and a neighbor of my parents registered his name as a .org website, apparently for no other reason than the .com and .net were already taken.

For an annual fee of around $100 you can subscribe to auditnet.org and receive some electronic books and access to all of the restricted programs without "sharing". I did that a while back; it is a good deal.
