So what, exactly, is the difference between MW and mayo? I understand there's a difference in taste, but why? BTW Hellmans has a much smoother consistency than Kraft.

MW is actually not mayo, it is a sandwich spread. It has added flavors.

Further South than I wanna be.
You can't use Miracle whip when making a Mayonaise cake but it is better in Waldorf salad.

Ooooh, totally agree with that. Also MW is better for deviled eggs.
