I have one word for the date seekers.....laundromat.

I've met more good dates at the laundromat than anywhere else.

Yeah, but I've got a good theory about laundromats....

"Don't ever try to pick up a woman at a laundromat. If she can't afford a washer and dryer, odds are she won't be able to support you!"

Skunk, yes I am and I get the envious task of being the one who always gets called when there's a computer problem or if a box needs moved. There are other males, but they're all over 35 and either can't or won't do it. All the women here are 35 or older and married. BOOOOO

Some of those 35+ women just might have younger sisters or cousins or girlfriends, you know!

" Those are exactly the kind of things I plan to do. Too many years spent doing what someone else wanted to do."

When did someone else get pulled into this thread?

"Well, just a thought from an female in her twenties...the fact that you have Napoleon Dynomite as your avatar probably doesn't help either... "

As another female in her twenties, who has seen Napoleon 7 times, I think your avatar IS sweet! There is someone out there who will appreciate it. By the way, do you have computer hacking skills?

Are you the token male at your bank too?

Oh, I sure am. I get A LOT of attention from the older (not old, just older than I) women around here.

I've been also featured in numerous commercials for the Bank, so I'm somewhat "known" in the community. I hate it when I'm at the gym (on the treadmill) and one of the commercials appears on the tv. I start feeling all of the eyes start to watch me.....

As for dating:

Two rules:

1.) No dating co-workers. I work in a small community bank, so this could lead to problems.
2.) No dating co-workers daughters.

Right now I'm not looking for a serious, committed relationship. I work long hours and I have a wide array of interests that soak up my time, so, at this point in my life, I'm a little too selfish with my time to dedicate it to someone.

Life is good though. Going out, meeting new folks. Not stressing too much.

Confidence is the key.

WOW, are you me? I'm so glad to know that there's other guys out there being featured in all the commercials. I posed as a customer once and after it started running, a guy I play basketball at the gym was like, "Did you get the loan?" I've even had buddies call me on the phone when they saw it! I'm on our website, the radio, EVERYWHERE. Who knew I'd be the poster boy for the bank? Don't get me wrong, I am definitely NOT bragging. I didn't tell anyone about the stuff, it just got found out!

Nancy, I divorced at 36 and had to face dating after 17 years of marriage. No fun at first, but frankly, it did get more fun as time went on. I did learn a couple things...get ID if you look young. I dated a couple guys who were more than 10 years younger than me and finally started asking a guy's age before I'd consider going out. I think the straw that broke the camel's back was when I was on the phone with a guy who mentioned his little sister's graduation. That sounded ok to me..until he said it was graduation from KINDERGARDEN! I stopped the conversation and said "Wait a second! How old are you!" He was 22 He thought I was 24 From then on I took ID

I dated a few guys in my social circle, made sure they weren't clients first of course, and was set up by friends several times. I never haunted the laundromat (same thing as mentioned before...if he can't afford a washer, he can't afford my wine bill) and eventually one of those set ups ended up being my sweetie of five years.

I was just talking with another gal here at the bank. She was agreeing with me that dating is an interesting thing to do at 35/40. Much different than at 25! We kind of know what we want and don't want to waste time on BS. That might make it harder, but it makes things easier in the long run.

We also both discussed that we weren't ready to date right after divorce. You might give it some time and find yourself first then find a man who worships the ground you walk on. Heck for all you know, Dave might be on his next cycle then
