I was wondering if anyone has a sample endorsement waiver form that an original payee can have signed and notarized confirming the validity of their signature. I read this Q&A from John Burnett below, and wondered if a waiver from the payee would mitigate a potential loss due to a forged payee endorsement.

Does anyone have any suggestions on proper wording? I've drafted something, but I was looking for some "best practices." Thanks!

Your best bet is to have the endorsement guaranteed by the payee's bank before you accept it.

Why would the waiver that you suggest be any more valid than an original signature of the payee on a check? Because of the notary? I can fake a notary signature for any State that you can name.

We were hoping to get them to come into the branch so they can fake the endorsement in person.
