If Sergio has his way, there will be only one. I think it will be 7 rounds, but haven't heard anything official. I also saw where NBC will not renew the series. Kind of disappointing, but I thought it was one of the better "reality" shows because it didn't involve stabbing each other in the back, only punching their lights out.

A couple of good fights to end the show. Sergio was dominant and really deserved to win as he is the only one to have not lost in the competition (I think Alphonso got robbed having to give Peter a rematch before the finals but that is another story). Sergio also had a great story, being from a poor family, geting his first suit, then his first car, then winning $1 million dollars. That's the American dream. This was a very good show, and it will be a shame if it isn't brought back.

I agree Puddy. It was one of the best to watch because there is no way it was staged and planned out ahead of time. Many reality tv shows are anything but real. I thougth the final fight was not the best fight I've seen in the series but it was OK. The others seemed to have more heat to them.

You're right about the final fight..despite being cut, Sergio was never really hurt or in any kind of trouble, and pretty-much dominated the fight. Showing the fight live kind of limited the drama, but it was still entertaining, especially knowing where these guys had come from, and now fighting for $1 million dollars. You don't get that same kind of feeling watching most pro sports.

I dont think that they are going to bring it back on NBC, but maybe someone else will pick it up.

The final fight is Peter and Sergio, I hope Peter wins. I think it is going to be a good fight.

Good news Contender fans, there is a small article in this weeks Sports Illustrated that says Sylvester Stallone is looking for a new home for the Contender. He basically said that while the show won't be on NBC anymore, it will be on somewhere, and it will be even better. With all of the crap on TV today, there has to be a channel for this show. Now if they could only find a new home for Third Watch.....
