Is it true that power of attorney papers do not have to be recorded for conducting bank transactions and that it only has to be recorded to conduct real estate transactions? What is the difference between a durable power of attorney and just a power of attorney, if any? Who can get into the lockbox to get the will so that it can be probated if no family member has the will and no one else is on the lockbox? Is there any way to close an account of a deceased customer if they are the only one on the account without having to go through probate? Does a DBA (Doing Business As) have to be probated if the surviving spouse is on the account? Please answer pertaining to Kentucky law.
