Not quite sure if this is the right spot to ask this question, but does anyone out there use a log for recording subpeona requests? If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Are you referring to subpoenas for documents or employees? All subpoenas should be logged in -- the type of subpoena typically indicates who keep those records. Subpoenas for records only should be served upon the institution's designated custodian of records. Subpoenas for employees to appear and testify (deposition or trial) should be served on the Security Department. There are several security-related issues that will arise involving employees giving testimony.

Sorry, I should have been a little more specific in my post; actually a log for either one. Though luckily, we have not had to have many testimonies. We generally get contacted for records/documents and unfortunately, with multiple branches throughout the state the subpeona's go to each location based on what juridiction they are in.
