I prefer charcoal for taste, but I cook on gas to save time.

I like the taste of charcoal and I am scared to death to light a propane grill. I am woosey and proud of it.

Charcoal Every Time!! My hubby does the grilling but he HATES gas grills. The taste is so much better. I hate a steak with propane taste.

Charcoal with a newspaper chimney starter. Charcoal lighter fluid is a definite no-no Might as well marinate your steaks in gasoline.

Charcoal tastes best, and for speed, I go with the George Foreman electric!

I prefer charcoal but for insurance purposes our condo association now forbids them so we need to buy a new gas grill. For now I just use my George Forman grill also, but steaks are better on any other type of grill!!

I prefer Charcoal, but we have a gas grill to save time. We grill year around. Winters in the garage. It can be 0 with a blizzard but my hubby wants to grill his food. That's ok with me, I do the indoor prep.

LOL! That was good! I have a gas grill (Happy Hank?), but I admit charcoal tastes better...If you don't douse them with lighter fluid.

Charcoal. Or liquid hot magma (see Wild Boys).

Ditto to tahdah. Charcoal does have a better flavor, but gas is sooo much quicker. Sorry Hank!

I like just leaving my meat out in the sun for a few hours. That does the trick.

Magnifing glass on sunny days. Otherwise on cloudy days I just microwave everything.

I like charcoal of those 2 but prefer hickory chips or mesquite to everything else. But since I don't get to have the final say, we have gas. It is easier to clean up, I'll admit. And these days we mostly use the George Foreman anyway.

Anyone try those little wood pellets with your gas grill? You put a few in a foil pouch and put on the burner to add some smoke to your gas grill. As often as I grill I think it does add to flavor.

We use a big green egg grill with charcoal. It is MUCH faster than gas, and tastes better. We adjust the wood chips we use for flavor based on the food though. And we NEVER start with fluid! Yuck!!! We start with a tiny bit of paper. The grill is up to over 1000 degrees in about 4 mins, so no need to wait for a really good steak.

When I was buying the big green egg (biggreenegg.com) for the sweetie my boss was trying to talk me into a huge gas thing. I told him we never cook on gas. He found that to be somewhat ironic, given that the sweetie is in the oil and gas business LOL
