15 U.S.C. 1681b & 12 C.F.R. 202.13 are the proper formats for the United States Codee & Code of Federal Regulations, respectively, but what is the correct & proper way of formatting cites for the FDIC?

If you are referring to FDIC Rules and Regulations, such as their rule on Insurance coverage of deposit accounts, these are part of the Code of Federal Regulations (the case in point is cited as 12 C.F.R. Part 330 or 12 C.F.R. 330.

As Compliance Auditor, I try to list any notes or exceptions in my reports with a hyperlink to the text. Since we're FDIC regulated, I would like for that hyperlink to take them to the FDIC's site (without causing further confusion).

For instance, 15 USC 1691 is referencing ECOA "Scope of prohibition."

(I apologize for the following poor grammar, but I "ain't" an English major)

What I would like to do is list the FDIC's site to which it is codified to (e.g. "6500 FDIC Consumer Protetion Title VII Equal Credit Opportunity 701"). Is there a proper, short version of this (e.g. 6500 FDIC VII.701 or 6610 FDIC 19)?

John if you'll send me a PM, I'll send you an example of the Word doc I use & what I'm attempting to accomplish.

Thanks again for any & all help.

Mike --

In that case, I'd recommend finding the citation in the FDIC's online version of their "Rules and Regulations" and include a hyperlink to the location. For example, for the ECOA hyperlink, I'd give them http://www.fdic.gov/regulations/laws/rules/6500-1200.html#6500701.
