I just joined but I am in for whenever. My only problem would be from Aug23-Sep6 as I'm out of the country but I'm sure I could adjust. How about a weekday night?

I've never done a live draft before. How does it work?

It's actually pretty cool. You sit at your computer and enter the league website. Whenever the draft is scheduled you go to the league and you select the button to enter the draft room. A window pops up that interfaces all of the players. When it is your turn to pick you simply select the player from the list (these are broken down by preranking that you can change if you'd like and by position to position). You can talk smack on the losers that pick up kellen winslow too! It keeps everything nice and orderly and you can see which players have been picked and which are available by flipping thorugh the different layers like flipping through excel spreadsheets.

For a geographically scattered group like this, probably over an email list, I would guess, unless someone has a conference line we can use for a couple of hours.
You determine the draft order and the draft methodology (usually serpentine, where the 10th guy in the first round gets the first pick in the second and then you go back up in reverse order). Of course, we also need the min/max rules per position (how many WRs you can/must have) plus stuff like if TEs are a required position or lumped in with WRs, how many bench players you can have, team defense vs. IDPs, et cetera.
Then everyone gets together in some fashion and makes their picks in order. It gets a bit confusing because there will always be a lot of questions like "Is Derrick Mason still on the board?" as people struggle to keep track of the picks. (Also, inevitably someone is gonna do something like "I choose Onterrio Smith" or some other lame move, which is always good for a laugh.)
Then the commish takes all of this data and manually sets up the team rosters.

Or this would work, too.

I'll never make it online for a draft. I have to auto pick. Sorry.

An online draft would either be a Saturday or Sunday thing, that would start at an agreed upon time, and you would pick in a serpentine order. This commish will not do an email draft, because yahoo doesn't support it, and I would have to do an auto draft, force everyone to drop everyone they get, and then go crazy. Ain't gonna happen folks.
How many people would be available on a Saturday Morning at say 11 am EST?
Make it Sat the 20th @ 11 and I'll be there.

Didn't know you have a fantasy football league. Is it still open to newbies? Never done it and probably wouldn't be any good at it but I'd like to try. What information is there on this?

Not 8-20 for me. I'm in Chicago without PC access (or inclination).

Was there a post for the league or is it already established?

I think there may be another open slot. Scroll through the TO thread to find the league ID and password.

Someone better pick up Kevin Jones from Detroit. He is going to have a break out year.

Any word on Buckhalter's newest knee injury? Pinkston going down is a blessing in disguise.

Buckhalter is looking good from all reports that I have read and heard. When did Pinkston go down? I didnt hear that. They can put Greg Lewis in there, he can stretch the field just like Pinkston.

Seriously, what's the deal with Mr. Glass? Pinkston went down with some achilles injury. I agree with the Greg Lewis assessment. Plus this almost forces them to use Reggie.
