We have a customer with a HELOC that would like to lower his line, but does not want to sign new loan documents. Wouldn't changing the limit require new docs?

No. A modification will take care of this. The customer will have to sign the modification but not an entire new set of docs.

Is there anything else that would need to be completed? Additional disclosures?

No.

1. I advise getting the borrower's request to lower the LOC in writing.
2. Have a simple modification agreement signed by the borrower agreeing to the reduced line of credit.
3. Lower the LOC on your system.

Would there be any modification that could be done to a HELOC that would require redisclosure of the Important Terms of our Equity Line of Credit or the When your home is on the line disclosures?
