Name a singer or group that is now on the oldies circuit, over-the-hill, past their prime, dead, out of show business, or disbanded that you wish you'd seen in concert. Maybe this person was before your time (like Mozart) or still tours with different members (Journey) or is disbanded (the Partridge Family) or the singer or prime members of a band are dead (Elvis, the Beatles) or maybe they just quit doing concerts or quit the music business.

If you had an opportunity to see this person or band perform, but sadly passed it up, tell us the story.

OK, I'll start. When I was in college, I passed up the chance to see Muddy Waters open for Eric Clapton. My excuse is that, at that time, I did not really know who Muddy Waters was and maybe I did not fully appreciate Clapton's stature in rock 'n' roll.

My first weekend away at college as a freshman, (September 1984) I could have seen Bruce Springsteen-decided that the keg party was more important....I am not a huge Springsteen fan, but Born In the USA was the HOT HOT HOT album...what a mistake that was...

I always wished I had gone to Live Aid. I was only 12 or 13 and I watched it on tv...But it would have been cool to see live!!

Sox in '04 - I saw Springsteen on the Tunnel of Love tour and I have to agree that you made a mistake. It was an incredible show that went on for hours. His concerts make converts out of skeptics!

A few years ago, I saw him again. He played solo with just his guitar. He was depressing. He played for two hours, but not one single upbeat song.

Billy Joel with Elton John. I had an opportunty to see them and didn't get tickets. I saw Elton in concert solo after that and he was amazing, the two of them together must have been unreal.

I've seen them together twice - once in Pittsburgh (by far the best!) and years later, in Philadelphia. Both were excellent concerts. I had the chance to see Billy Joel in an intimate setting (the Catholic Youth Center, I think) in Scranton when I was in college, but I didn't go. Big mistake.

I've seen him!! He played A Capitol Fourth one year. He was *awesome*. There's going to be a movie of his life coming out soon.

OK, you won't believe this, but I live in Austin (and have since 1980) but I ::gasp:: never saw Stevie Ray Vaughan in concert. Never!

I guess I thought I'd always have time to see him. I was wrong!

That would have to be Pink Floyd...hands down. Who knows, maybe they will run out of *Money* and go back out on tour.

...wishful thinking, much?

Speaking of that, does anybody know if they have produced a Live8 DVD and/or CD set. All of the original Floyd played (except for looney tune Syd Barrett of course).

Yeah, I heard something about Reese Witherspoon (sp?) playing June Carter. It didn't exactly set my ears a-tinglin', but who knows... do you know who is going to play Cash?

I'm very jealous.

Joaquin Phoenix is going to play Cash. It looks good.

BTW, i wish i'd seen the Doors in concert, and Hendrix.
I also wish i went to Project Revolution last year, but we had to save up money for our move from Texas to Georgia.
Oh well.

Nirvana was a waste of brain cells.

Nat King Cole and Eva Cassidy. Both in a heaven I hope to get to some day...filled with their amazing voices!
